What to Wear to a Country Concert

If you’re heading to a country concert this summer, let’s talk outfits. I’ve grabbed some pieces from my closet that feel like me, but still have that country concert vibe – including lots of denim and cowboy boots.

Here are some outfit ideas that would be perfect for a day-to-night concert situation, a music festival, or even just line dancing with your friends. Think breathable fabrics, little pops of Western flair, and outfits that you can move in.

Denim Shorts, Always

  • Lace top + denim shorts– Something about lace just feels perfect for a concert. Add boots and call it done.
  • Textured tank + denim shorts– A twist on basics. Simple, but with a little something extra.
  • White tank + denim shorts + bandana necklace– The bandana makes it. That tiny accessory pulls the whole look together.
  • Tank + denim shorts + flannel tied around the waist– Functional and cute. Perfect for when you know it’ll get cooler as the night goes on.
  • Mesh floral top + denim shorts– I wore this exact outfit to a Priscilla Block & Chase Rice concert recently and I loved it! That top is one of my favorites for date night, girls night, etc. and it was perfect for a country concert, too!

Skirts, Jumpers, and Dresses

  • Yellow eyelet tank + denim skirt- Feels bright and fresh. Eyelet is such a fun detail for Summer.
  • White skirt + denim vest– I’ve seen versions of this outfit everywhere, and for good reason! It’s simple but cute and works for everyone.
  • Yellow floral mini dress + denim vest- I love this one! You could wear any sundress you already have, and then adding the vest and boots makes it really concert ready.
  • Embroidered vest + denim skirt– The embroidery on this vest is gorgeous! I love the colors. It’s a fun piece to add in your wardrobe not just for concerts but as a fun third piece.
  • Floral skirt + tee + denim vest– I think this one is so girly and cute! Leave off the vest and boots and it’s a perfect summer outfit, too!
  • White dress + denim shirt– Similar to the white skirt option, but a dress instead. A white dress is always classic, and a denim shirt is perfect for a cooler day. If it’s warm, just wear the white dress instead! Mine is older and has eyelet details that I think are so pretty, but I’ve linked similar as well.
  • Denim jumper + tee + bandana– Love this one if you want something different from the usual shorts. I’ve also worn this denim jumper SO many ways (from teaching to apple picking to church) so it’s a versatile piece for your closet far beyond a country concert.
  • Maxi skirt + tank– If you’re not into shorts or mini skirts, this one’s for you. Flowy, comfy, and still cute with boots.

A Few Tips:

  • Cowboy boots are your best friend. They make the outfit. BUT – if you don’t own a pair and don’t want to invest in one, you could easily swap sandals or even sneakers. Most of my pairs are under $60 on Amazon and are wide calf friendly,
  • Don’t overthink it- a little denim goes a long way. Even just denim shorts and a cute top is a perfect look!
  • Layering helps- a vest or flannel can pull an outfit together without feeling bulky.
  • Accessories matter! Bandanas, a fun belt (I didn’t have one, but I’ve seen many cute outfits with them), or statement earrings can add so much to your outfit.
  • Most importantly: wear what makes you feel good. There’s no wrong way to dress!

What I’ve Actually worn:

  • I wore this denim skirt and white eyelet tank to a Justin Moore concert last Summer.
  • I paired my denim jumper with a white lace top to see Post Malone.
  • My mesh top & denim shorts (exactly like above) was what I wore to see Priscilla Block last month!
  • I’m going to see Thomas Rhett later this Summer and I can’t wait to pick out my outfit for that, too!
